BACKGROUND: Dr. Brindala is triple board-certified in preventive medicine, addiction medicine, and clinical informatics with medical education and training from Penn and Stanford.
CURRENT ROLES: Dr. Brindala operationalizes entrepreneurial innovation in healthcare. He focuses on strategy and growth while driving product development and customer acquisition. Dr. Brindala founded Infraza and Abortion Telemedicine.
PREVIOUS ROLES: Dr. Brindala previously served as Chief Medical Officer at AdventHealth ($18 billion) with prior physician executive roles at integrated payor-provider systems including Highmark ($27 billion) and UPMC ($28 billion). Dr. Brindala began his career in health policy as Senior Advisor for the Obama Administration and then as Senior Advisor for a Columbia University Think-Tank.
Board Bio
Dr. Brindala has a strong track record on multiple boards including officer roles with governance and oversight responsibilities. As President of the American Board of Public Health he oversees development of content and criteria for physician subspecialties in emerging fields of medicine. He enables innovative learning and certification through his guidance on leveraging remote capabilities of cloud computing. Dr. Brindala facilitates collaborative design with computer engineering for product creation and optimization of end-user experience.
Dr. Brindala serves as a Board Member for Hypt Health and for CheckUp Health. He offers subject-matter expertise in digital health and health tech to support AI diagnostics, digital therapeutics, and translation of evidence-based medicine to patient-facing products. As a Board Member at Penn Health-Tech he contributes to development and mentorship of innovators at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Brindala also serves as a Board Member for Orlando Science Schools. He provides governance and oversight for expansion and growth, and he offers guidance on health and wellness including nutrition and physical activity. Dr. Brindala leads collaboration and partnerships with regional stakeholders for innovation in education.
As the Chair of the Board he provided leadership for the AdventHealth Accountable Care Organization which managed 50,000 patients, 1,000 physicians, and 30 hospitals. Dr. Brindala fostered the integration of data systems, improvement in healthcare quality outcomes, and reduction of unnecessary medical costs. As the Secretary of the Board he offered advising and mentoring to the AdventHealth Population Health Services Organization which coordinated value-based care across 50 hospitals in 9 states. As an expert in this domain Dr. Brindala focused on advancement in clinical and quality areas by utilizing technology tools.
